We all have those ups and downs in life and sometimes wake up in a funky mood. Completely ready to burrow back under the WARM and comforting covers and tell the world that you'll meet up with it Another Day...
If you coax yourself out of that comforting cotton comforter (I knew it was called a comforter for a reason!), you can do some things to help lighten that mood. Like that single ray of sunshine piercing through an ominous thundercloud, indicating that silver lining is right around the corner...
1) Write it down! Figure out what's bothering you - and it might not be evident at first. Sometimes, I will get a gnawing at the back of my mind that something just isn't right, but I just can't put my finger on it. (Hold on while I stop and listen to Ween's song of this title, ha! I digress...) But seriously, writing it down can put things into perspective and clearly define what is wrong.
2) Take Action! Now that you KNOW that is bothering you, you can put into action a plan to overcome your FUNK. If it is further overwhelming you, keep mulling over possible solutions while you try some of the other ideas below.
3) Work it Out! This morning, I took a short walk in the brisk autumn air and it felt wonderful and invigorating! It was not a "Sweatin to the Oldies" kind of workout, but it had benefit! Whatever type of exercise you enjoy or can do at that moment will suffice. Usually when we feel the least like exercising... we should exercise! When working out, endorphins rush through your body, activating your opiate receptors, causing an analgesic effect. In other words... it makes ya FEEL GREAT!! And that sludge you call your BLOOD also gets moving and provides more oxygen to your body and BRAIN!
