To err is human; to blame it on the other guy is even more human.
–Bob Goddard

I’ve had a lot going on today and much of it dealt with accountability.  Today, I made mistakes – honestly, I make mistakes on a daily basis.  But I strive to own up to those errors, admit my weaknesses, learn and grow from those things.

If you do not grow from the lessons in your life, or if you keep someone ELSE from learning their own lessons, you are only hindering them from going on that journey of discovering the best version of themselves.  But WHY BOTHER?

To say,”WHY EVEN BOTHER??” does not bring us closer to being accountable and better inhabitants of this earth.  WHY EVEN BOTHER leaves you in a place of the Latin word “ego,” or “I” – instead of “we.”

Alone we are one drop.  Together, we are the ocean.

Not being present is not being accountable.

Not being responsive is not being accountable.

Not communicating is not being accountable.

Blaming someone else is not being accountable.

BEING ACCOUNTABLE is actually very freeing.  It’s all “out there.”  Nothing to hide and ultimately those things don’t end up being a big deal in the grand scheme of things.

If you are not moving forward, you are moving in reverse.  You must continue to work on yourSELF to move forward.  And YOU are the only one that can do that.

Others can inspire you, but you are the only one that can MOTIVATE yourself.

So do it.  The time we have in this life is way too short to fritter away and not be the best version of you that you can be.

Be accountable.  WHY EVEN BOTHER?  There are so many reasons, but only you can answer that with the reasons that matter most to YOU.

Take the time to bother.  I know you’ll be glad you did.

Are YOU ready?
